I recently graduated from Biola University with a BA in Sociology and minor in Communication Studies. In the near future, I plan on getting certified as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist and my Masters in Social Work so that I can create holistic secondary and higher education programs that support a student's emotional and behavioral well-being in addition to intellectual capacities.
Experience
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about helping others understand difficult concepts. I went from helping friends with homework and study skills in middle and high school to guiding students through difficult lessons as a teacher's assistant and private tutor in college. As a day camp counselor and director for a historic site in Long Beach, I have also had plenty of experience teaching elementary-aged children in a fun and engaging way. In addition to my experience teaching at the primary, secondary and higher education levels, I have also helped students with a wide range of subjects: reading comprehension, history, writing, psychology, sociology, algebra and, my favorite, statistics.
